چکیده

SAS is an AI application developed for the Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) at Chek Lap Kok. SAS uses constraint-programming techniques to assign parking stands to aircraft and schedules tow movements based on a set of business and operational constraints. The system provides planning, real-time operation, and problem solving capabilities. SAS generates a stand allocation plan that finely balances the objectives of the airlines/handling agents, the convenience of passengers, and the operational constraints of the airport. The system ensures a high standard of quality in customer service, airport safety, and utilization of stand resources. This paper also describes our experience in developing an AI system using standard offthe-shelf software components. SAS is an example of how development methodologies used to construct modern AI applications have become fully inline with mainstream practices.

APACHE A Constraint Based, Automated Stand Allocation System

In this paper we describe APACHE (Airport Parking Assignment in a Constrain[ Handling Environment), an automated stand allocation system for large airports with several terminals. Different types of constraints, e.g. parking restrictions, safety/security requirements, preferred terminals ind resource allocation for ground movements can be combined and are taken automatically into account. Const...

an Optimum Resource Allocation Model for Airport Passenger Terminals (RESEARCH NOTE)

According to the current Airport planning and design practices, for a given demand level there is a corresponding space requirement. While in practice, there are always trade-offs between cost and levels of service, labor and automation, equipment and fixed facilities, and expansion of existing facilities and the addition of new ones. In this research, the airport passenger Terminal Building (P...

A Multi Agent Based Model for Airport Service Planning

Aviation industry is highly dynamic and demanding in nature that time and safety are the two most important factors while one of the major sources of delay is aircraft on ground because of it complexity, a lot of machinery like vehicles are involved and lots of communication are involved. As one of the aircraft ground services providers in Hong Kong International Airport, China Aircraft Service...

Kong International Airport ( HKIA ) – comparison of results between numerical models

The Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) is situated in an area of complex terrain. To its south is the mountainous Lantau Island with peaks rising to about 1000 m AMSL with v alleys as low as 400 m in between. Terrain-disrupted airflow could occur ov er and around HKIA when the prev ailing winds are from east to southwest, in particular when strong east to southeasterly winds blow over the a...
